BIRD SONG (For Mom) "All I know is something like a bird within her sang All I know she sang a little while and then flew off Tell me all that you know, I'll show you snow and rain If you hear that same sweet song again, will you know why? Anyone who sings a tune so sweet is passing by Laugh in the sunshine, sing, cry in the dark, fly through the night Don't cry now, don't you cry, don't you cry anymore Sleep in the stars, don't you cry, dry your eyes on the wind All I know is something like a bird within her sang All I know she sang a little while and then flew off Tell me all that you know, I'll show you snow and rain" (Robert Hunter & Jerry Garcia) In the LightSong of Eternal Love, Thank you . . . with love, Michael http://spiritualfreedomsatsang.org - Blog Grateful Dead - Bird Song - 10/31/80 - Radio City Music Hall (OFFICIAL) "Death is the greatest enigma in life. It has baffled humankind from times out of mind. And yet, despite all attempts to solve the mystery, it has remained as mysterious as ever before.
The Saints of the highest order . . . who come down from the region of deathlessness and are ever in tune with the Infinite, know the shadowy character of death. They teach us that death is not what it seems. It is a joyous birth (born again) into a life more beatific than we ever dreamed of here. It is just as the sun sets on this side of the globe and rises on the other part. They point out and demonstrate to use the way to conquer the seemingly invincible and terrifying death and become fear-free. This is the grand lesson that we can get from the Saints. They assure us that we do not die—we simply shake off physical vesture of body to work in other bodies: physical or astral or causal; and ultimately rise to realize our divine nature and see oneness in God - the All-consciousness and bliss." In the attics of my life, full of cloudy dreams unreal Full of tastes no tongue can know, nd lights no eye can see When there was no ear to hear, You sang to me I have spent my life Seeking all that's still unsung Bent my ear to hear the tune, And closed my eyes to see When there were no strings to play, You played to me In the book of love's own dream, Where all the print is blood Where all the pages are my days, And all my lights grow old When I had no wings to fly, You flew to me, You flew to me In the secret space of dreams, Where I dreaming lay amazed When the secrets all are told, And the petals all unfold When there was no dream of mine, You dreamed of me You dreamed of me" (Robert Hunter & Jerry Garcia) Thank you . . . with love, Michael http://spiritualfreedomsatsang.org SO MANY ROADS (for Mom) "Thought I heard a blackird singing Up on Bluebird Hill, Call me a whining boy if you will. Born where the sun don't shine, And I don't deny my name, Got no place to go, ain't that a shame? Thought I heard that KC whistle Moaning sweet and low. Thought I heard that KC when she blow. Down where the sun don't shine Underneath the Kokomo Whinin' boy got no place to go So many roads I tell you So many roads I know So many roads, so many roads Mountain high, river wide So many roads to ride So many roads, so many roads Thought I heard a jug band playing 'If you don't... who else will?' From over on the far side of the hill All I know the sun don't shine And the rain refused to fall And you don't seem to hear me when I call Wind inside and the wind outside Tangled in the window blind Tell me why you treat me so unkind Down where the sun don't shine Lonely and I call your name No place left to go, ain't that a shame? So many roads I tell you New York to San Francisco So many roads I know All I want is one to take me home From the high road to the low So many roads I know So many roads so many roads From the land of the midnight sun Where the ice blue roses grow Along those roads of gold and silver snow Howling wide or moaning low So many roads I know So many roads to ease my soul" (Robert Hunter & Jerry Garcia) Thank you . . . with Love, Gregory Michael Turner http://spiritualfreedomsatsang.org - Blog https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6sFyRQPraJ8 FOR MY MOTHER.
This morning, my mother was lifted up, enfolded in the LightSong of Eternal Love that is the Holy Spirit, and passed from this life into the Kingdom of Heaven She was the most spiritually attuned, kind, loving and giving person I have ever known not even remotely a vegetarian, and the best mother a person could possibly dream of. I don't have much to say right now except: I LOVE YOU MOM!!!!!!! ************************************************ BROKEDOWN PALACE "Fare you well my honey Fare you well my only true one All the birds that were singing Have flown except you alone. Going to leave this Broke-down Palace On my hands and my knees I will roll, roll, roll. Make myself a bed by the waterside In my time - in my time - I will roll, roll, roll. In a bed, in a bed by the waterside I will lay my head Listen to the river sing sweet songs to rock my soul River gonna take me Sing me sweet and sleepy Sing me sweet and sleepy all the way back back home It's a far gone lullaby sung many years ago Mama, Mama, many worlds I've come since I first left home Going home, going home by the waterside I will rest my bones Listen to the river sing sweet songs to rock my soul Going to plant a weeping willow On the banks green edge it will grow, grow, grow Sing a lullaby beside the water Lovers come and go - the river roll, roll, rolls Fare you well, fare you well I love you more than words can tell Listen to the river sing sweet songs to rock my soul."
