A lot of the spiritual exercises that Paul Twitchell taught were simply methods of concentrating your attention. One technique he offered was to sit and look up at a corner of the room. Notice where you’re sitting right now. Up there in that corner is the intersection of the two walls and the ceiling. Now, if you carefully place your attention on that point, you can imagine it getting closer and closer until you’re looking right into it – until you can almost feel it with your inner fingers, like Spiderman. Now, take your attention from looking at that point and pivot around it to looking back down at yourself sitting in the room. This is a way of taking control of your attention and consciously redirecting it, refocusing it, which is an essential part of this program.
